The present work is a collection of studies in certain empirical and methodological problems of research in human migration. There is a paucity of suitable informative material on various aspects of human migration and students engaged in research in this field feel considerably handicapped. The book 'Studies in Human Migration' fills a long felt need of students and research workers. The book is divided into two parts, Part I deals with the various methods and techniques as well as concepts in migration, theories of migration, mechanism of migration, causes and consequences of migration, typology and methods of migration analysis. This theoretical chapter is supported by a seperate empirical chapter talking a cause study of eastern U.P. (India), Part II provides a classified annotated and unannotated bibliography on the various fields of human migration.
