The status of women in Indian Society has been subordinate to women right from the very beginning. They have to suffer from various kinds of discrimination, exploitations and torture, both mental and physical. If this the status of women in general then what to speak of the non-working women. Indian women have been gradually coming out of traditional roles and are gradually entering into male dominates areas. Traditionally, Indian women worked within the framework of the family system. The interface between work and life has the potential to be more stressful for women who work outside the home, than for men. The resultant outcome is that modern women live in a system that requires them to perform both familial as well as professional roles.
