About the Authors

Mr. Nalini Kanto Mahato (service period 1985-2024) was the Former Head and Assistant Professor in the University Department of Geography, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has taught Cartography and Advanced Cartography to both Undergraduate & Postgraduate students for more than thirty-nine years, and his research interests are Regional Planning and Political Geography, his research was particularly focused on the study of Primitive Tribes of Jharkhand. He is the author of a famous book entitled "Cadastral Survey Method and Techniques"  He has organized workshops, seminars, and conferences in the field of Geography.

Mr. Mahato also Introduced several innovative entrepreneurial and job-oriented short-term courses for the students. These courses are namely 1. Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS, 2. Certificate Course in Amanat (Cadastral Survey), 3. Advanced Surveying and Mapping Techniques, 4. Soil Health Management, and 5. Tourist Travel Management at DSPM University, Ranchi (Erstwhile Ranchi College, Ranchi.)

Mr. Mahato has presented more than Ten research papers at various conferences and seminars and has published Eight research papers in various National and International Journals to date. He is a life member of the National Association of Geographers India, (NAGI), Delhi, Indian National Cartographic Association, (INCA), Hyderabad, and The Konkan Geographers Association, (KGA), Maharashtra.

Mr. Mahato is associated with several learned societies in India and various administrative and academic works of the University as a member of the Senate, Syndicate, and Academic Council.
