The quantification of geomorphological research has made the subject area specific for testing the methodology of analysis. The book deals with the situations prevailing in the Rohtas Plateau, Bihar. \nThe Rohtas Plateau forming a part of the long west-east elongated Vindhyan Range of Central India has not been studied previously in the context of geomorphological aspects and evolution, although the area has attracted the attention of eminent earth scientists particularly geologists for over a hundred years. This book provides an analysis of all the terrestrial features of the plateau's terrain on spatial and temporal scales and in terms of the processes which produce, sustain and transform them within these scales. The book deals with the captivating features of a karst region, thus filling up the gap in Indian geomorphology. Both Laboratory and field techniques have been described and all of them have been suitably applied providing a guide-line to researchers and persons of academic interest. Throughout the volume, explanation is closely linked with exemplification, by reference to real situations. The book has overall covered a new area in Indian Geomorphology.
