About the Authors | Dr. Nizamuddin Khan is a Professor in the Department of Geography at Aligarh Muslim University. He has an experience 29 years of in teaching and research and has been involved continuously in university academic activities. Dr. Khan’s research interests include agricultural marketing, rural marketing, and livestock husbandry. He has also completed eight major research projects sponsored by ICAR, ICSSR, UGC, New Delhi, and UPCST, Lucknow, on the theme of livestock husbandry and agricultural marketing. Prof. Khan has also authored thirteen (13) books. Fifteen Ph.D. and five Post-Doctoral fellows have been awarded under his supervision. He received the International Geographical Union Scholarship twice, Best Paper Award in ACSSR 2010, Penang, Malaysia, Istanbul, Turkey (2018), and Greensboro, U.S.A. (2019). He has also been awarded Bhoogol Shastra Bhusan 2019 by DGSI and Prof. B Hema Malini Eminent Geographers’ Award 2022 by NAGI. Lifetime Achievement Award 2020, and Outstanding Scientist Award (2021) by VD Good Professional Association of India. Prof. Khan published 115 research papers in reputed national and international journals and books. He delivered lectures at various international conferences held abroad in about 22 countries. Dr. Syed Naushad Ahmad is a Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Geography at Aligarh Muslim University. Aligarh. He completed his education from a Pre-University course to M.Phil. from AMU, Aligarh. He obtained his Ph.D. from Agra University, Agra, in 1993. He specializes in the field of Regional Development and Planning, Environmental Geography, and Food Security. Prof. Ahmad has a very bright academic record throughout his carrier, achieving first division consistently from High School to Post Graduate level. At the research level, he qualified for UGC NET with JRF in 1986. He got an opportunity to teach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for three years. He was the Vice-Chancellor’s nominee as a subject expert of geography in the general election committee at Patna University. Prof. Ahmad is also actively engaged in research. Fourteen Ph.D. and three M.Phil. have been awarded under his supervision. Prof. Ahmad has contributed many papers in reputed journals and authored one book. He has attended and presented his research papers at various National and International Conferences. Prof. Shahab Fazal is Professor of Geography. He obtained his graduation and post graduation from Rajasthan University in Ist Division. Later he joined AMU and completed his Ph.D. Prof. Fazal started his teaching career in 1994 as Lecturer at Aligarh Muslim University. His research interests are in Land use, Land transformation issues in urban fringe, Remote Sensing and GIS. He has published fourteen books and more than Seventy Five research articles in various national and international journals. He is recipient of prestigious fellowships sui.e. ch as- United States of America - Fulbright Fellowship (2013-14). ,British Government-Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship (2004) , Netherlands Government- NWO-ICSSR Visiting Professor (2011). Canadian Government-Shastri Faculty Research Fellowship (2003 and 2009) DST-DAAD Fellowship (2000-2001). DST Young Scientist Award 2000 and CSIR Fellowship (1991-93) He was also member of Indo -German Joint Research Team working for DST - DAAD Research Project. He has successfully completed four Major Research Projects sponsored by DST, ICSSR, DST-DAAD and SICI (Canada). Prof. Shahab Fazal has extensive collaborative research with some of the leading institutions from western world. His academic visits and research includes United States of America; Great Britain; Canada; Germany; The Netherlands; Sweden; Belgium; France; Switzerland; Italy etc. |
